Is the US Navy Reserve the best choice for me if I want to finish college?

Question by truthseeker06: Is the US Navy Reserve the best choice for me if I want to finish college?
I want to join the military but I also want to get a masters degree & BA so I can become an officer in Social Work. Should I GO USNR to ensure a better chance of finishing college quicker? and then switch over to full time office later on?? Also am I required to have a job/car to join the reserves?
P.s. If i am enrolled in college will deployment disrupt my college no matter what branch I’m in? Is it even possible to go to college and be in the military simultaneously?

I find that reserves are always better. you get to sleep in your own bed ( most of the time ) while you find out if you really do like the life

Your VA benefit is not a loan. It’s a guarantee on a loan. You will have to seek out a company to loan you the money and you can use your VA guarantee option to help you. You can only use it once, so use it wisely.

Question by : Questions about Navy Intelligence Enlisted?
I want to start out by saying, that I’m joining because the Navy offers every
opportunity that I don’t get in the civillian world. I want to take advantage of
that. I want to take every opportunity and excell as far as I can. I want to
advance as much as possible and do the best I can.
That being said, I have leaned toward Intelligence. I get mixed information
about it though. Is it there room for advancement? Is there time for
communication to family members, like emailing, letters, phone? How does
deployment work? I read on the website that you have a 30 month fleet. Is that
all on ship? My brother is on a ship but they still stop at different countries.
Would I spend more time on sea or shore and would I have a main station? I read
that your rating depends on the ASVAB score, I made a 63 overall. What made you
choose Intelligence? Is it an overmanned feild? Possibilities of becoming an Officer years down the road?
I’d appreciate your answers.

IS is optimally manned but advancement is possible *if* you are good enough

communication is up to you. while deployed, yes it can be sporadic

sea duty is being assigned to a ship(or sub). you may be underway 75% of the time.. or 3% of the time. way too many variables. you can expect to finish out your inital enlistment on sea duty.

becoming an Officer is also entirely up to you.

This shity webcam and audio on this computer is fucking up my videos is all i need to download from camcorder to computer a firewire because this webcam is not worth a shit i have to shoot like 15 videos just to make one its a pain in the ass but the computer keeps saying not recognized when i use a usb cable, i got a new model camcorder and i could make my videos a hell of a lot better if i could use it then download on computer this piece of shit laptop is about to get busted up
